The BeSmart Science and Engineering Track is a developmental program for children and teens ages 5 to 17. We design a step-by-step path: from initial experiments, LEGO robotics, and an introduction to the scientific method—to in-depth study of biology, chemistry, medicine, and engineering, preparation for academic competitions, independent research, and public speaking.
From Early Experiments to Original Research and Serious Science
It is important to us that children not only memorize facts and formulas, but also understand how the world works, know how to ask questions, formulate hypotheses, conduct experiments, analyze results, and apply their knowledge in practice.
Hands-on practice plays a key role at every stage of learning. Children work with laboratory equipment, conduct experiments, use microscopes, dissect specimens, solve medical and engineering problems, and create designs and research projects.
But the scientific journey doesn’t end with a solid understanding of the subject.
The next real step is to try formulating your own question, conducting research, and sharing the results with others.
That is precisely why public science projects are a distinct part of the BeSmart educational track.
In many ways, this path mirrors a real scientific career: from learning the fundamentals to hands-on practice, conducting original research, and presenting it to the professional community.
